cine film to DVD Do you remember when you all sat around in the living room, while Dad struggled to erect the projector screen, and the way it would always turn slightly to the left no matter which position the tripod legs were in. Then came the threading of the film, a degree in electro-mechanical engineering was required. At last all was ready, the lights were turned off, the white light flickered on the screen, the first image appeared, out of focus but a quick fiddle with the lens and there is Granny in all her glory in 1963. Wonderful, then just as Granny is about to pick up her new Grandson the screen turns white, there is a clicking noise from the projector and Dad speaks in some foreign tongue. Have you still got your old cine films let us transfer them to DVD. We have the technology! If your cherished memories are simply fading away and deteriorated through age. We have the Professional Skill and Technology to transfer them to DVD or VHS and enhance the image.
After scanning your Cine film frame by frame we enhance & manipulate using specialist computer software.

Note:- If your larger reels are not full we will only charge per 50 foot As an example if a 5" reel is half full you would only pay £10.00. (you can tell how much film is on them by reading from the markings on one of the arms of the reel).
DVD and Case £8.00 Includes; A Menu, that plays on your TV or PC, Plus a Full size case with printed insert and printed DVD. (That's a Sample on the Left)

For home editing; You can have your transferred cine film supplied on MiniDV Tape ¹ £10.00 (1 hour of footage) or Data DVD £ 3.00 (18 minutes of footage)
£ 2.50 extra per Fifty Foot for Sound ¹ If you want to safely store your transferred films, this is your best option. You will need a Camcorder and a Firewire connection to your PC for editing. ² We always keep a backup of all DVD's we produce they are safely stored so you can request extra copies of your DVD’s later. We use a special unit to guide the film passed a cool LED light source, then digital images are taken of each frame of your film. This is frame-by-frame scanning. As there is no screen involved a clear, sharp scan of each frame is achieved. The images are then built up to form a movie. Please Note: If for some reason we feel that the Cine film is even beyond our technical ability to transfer or repair, we will contact you and tell you what is achievable. If you decide that you do not want to proceed with the transfer we will then return your original films with no cost to yourself.
Some times the film has deteriorated so much that what ever process is used it might not be feasible to enhance the quality! The sound track on cine films can also be badly distorted, we do try to clean the sound up, but again this does depend on the initial recording and the condition of the magnetic strip on the film.
